Who we are

Datrix (the Datrix app for Android, the Datrix dashboard and Datrix Print for Windows) is made by Biz Era. Write to hello@datrixs.in about anything on this page.

Datrix keeps people's details for the ID card provider that uses it, and for the school, college or company that provider makes cards for. They decide what details a card needs; Datrix stores and processes them only to make those cards.

What Datrix keeps

  • The people on the cards (students, staff, employees): whatever the card asks for, such as name, class and section, roll or admission number, date of birth, parents' names and phone numbers, address, blood group, bus route, and their ID photo and signature. If a card asks for Aadhaar, only its last four digits are kept. If it asks for medical conditions or allergies, those are kept too.
  • Teachers and staff who enter details in the app: their name, mobile number and role, which school's login they use, and their phone's model, Android version and app version, so each entry shows who made it.
  • ID card providers and their team: name, email and the work they do in the dashboard, such as which projects they changed or exported.
  • Datrix Print: the computer's name and Windows version, and daily counts of jobs, cards and sheets printed.
  • Diagnostics: the camera's face guide uses Google ML Kit, which sends Google the phone's model, Android and app version, timings and error codes, with an identifier for the installation that isn't tied to a person.

Datrix doesn't use location, contacts, messages or anything else on the phone.

What it's used for

Only to make ID cards: collecting and checking details, designing and printing the cards, showing who entered or changed what, and keeping accounts secure (for example, slowing down repeated wrong passwords). Datrix doesn't sell anyone's details, show ads, or track people across other apps and websites.

Who can see it

  • The school, college or company the details belong to, through its login, and its ID card provider. Each ID card provider sees only its own customers' details.
  • Biz Era, only to keep Datrix running and when someone asks us for help.
  • Our hosting provider, Oracle Cloud, whose servers in Mumbai, India store everything. They keep it for us and don't use it themselves.

We don't share details with anyone else unless the law requires it.

How it's kept safe

  • Everything travels encrypted (HTTPS), between phones, computers and our servers.
  • Photos are stored privately and shown only through links that expire.
  • Passwords are stored only as hashes; school login passwords are encrypted.
  • The database keeps each ID card provider's details apart from every other's.

How long it's kept

Details stay as long as the ID card provider keeps the project they belong to. When a record or project is deleted, it leaves our nightly backups within 7 days. Server logs are kept for 7 days.

Children

Students' details are entered by their school's staff to make their ID cards. Datrix isn't meant to be used by children themselves.

Seeing, correcting or deleting details

Ask your school, college, company or ID card provider: they can correct or remove records in Datrix. You can also write to us. See how to delete your data.
